Back to the typeface...

I'm starting work again on Monday, and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

I started blogging again when I was on maternity leave, mostly as an outlet for the words rattling round in my head (it can get quite noisy in there...), so I obviously do miss work when I don't have any to do. I've been using my KIT days* over the last few weeks to do odd bits here and there for some of my smaller clients, which has been nice, and varied, and has provided quite a good balance - but the time has come to start taking on projects from my main client again (I do freelance translation work for a publishing company).

*KIT: Keeping In Touch days. In the UK, mothers on maternity leave are allowed to work for up to ten days before they "officially" go back to work, meaning freelancers, in particular, can do odd days without losing maternity pay. This is a huge bonus for people like me: many of my clients only send projects once or twice a year, so I need to be available, or lose the business. Here endeth the lesson.

In some ways, I'm excited to have another big project to get my teeth into. In other ways, I'm not sure how the whole juggling-three-children-and-a-job thing is going to work. I'm very, very lucky in that I'm self-employed and work from home, so I don't have to arrange childcare, but then I still need to find three hours a day to meet my page quota. We'll just have to see how that works out...

In the meantime, ideas and/or prayers would be greatly appreciated!
